Madness Interactive: In Vain is a 2D side-scrolling shooter where you chase the sheriff’s deputy across Nevada after he steals your cake. Yes, all this mayhem starts with an empty cake box.
Make your way through each area, open doors, and use any weapon you can get your hands on. You can shoot, punch, throw objects, grab enemies, and swing on ropes.
Bullet time slows down combat when a room fills with enemies. Use it before they surround you. Switching weapons with the Tab key is also faster than searching for another gun among a pile of corpses.
Confirmed weapons include the Deagle, the silenced Mac 10, the semi-automatic shotgun, the stockless AK-47, and the Benelli M4. Soldiers dodge with quick jumps, while Engineers are tougher than regular Agents.
The music credits list Lunathemoth and Kevin MacLeod. The track list includes “Chasing the Devil,” “Volgion [Album Edition],” and “Storm Passing.”
