UI developer (HTML, CSS & JS)

Here at Miniplay we're looking for a User Interface Developer who can join our team in Madrid and assume an important role in the evolution and improvement of our platform.

Miniplay is growing fast, and so is its ever-increasing user database. We have our own game data integration API and a unique avatar editor, a private label, international sites and a new mobile web on the way amongst other projects.

You will work with an enthusiastic team of developers, frontenders, designers and illustrators (even though some of them are real trolls.)

We aren't that interested in knowledge, but attitude. We want someone who enjoys taking part in digital projects, learning and teamworking. If you fulfill those requirements, we'll be happy to teach you anything you need to know about technology and procedures.

What will you do?

  • Turn designs into beautiful semantic, standard and cross-platform HTML and CSS.
  • Take part in the development and upgrade of our products following given coding patterns.
  • Solve cross-browsing issues.
  • Lay out newsletters.
  • Take part in the planning and coordination of the project along with the rest of the team.
  • Suggest new ideas in relation to innovation and application of emerging technologies.

Who are you?

  • Someone who has a great knowledge of HTML and CSS3.
  • Someone who is familiar with JavaScript.
  • Someone who is interested in web standards.
  • Someone who can use image editors, such as Fireworks and Photoshop.
  • Someone who knows how to spot a bug and solve it on different browsers.
  • Someone who thinks about the users and is willing to make their experiences easier and more pleasant.
  • Someone who has a good aesthetic sense.
  • A coffee drinker (or not.)

What would be cool?

  • That you're familiar with GIT.
  • That you have knowledge of CSS preprocessors, such as SASS and LESS.
  • That you can debug JavaScript using the browser console.
  • That you are familiar with responsive web design.
  • That you have some knowledge of PHP.
  • That your designs are neat.
  • That you like coffee.

What do we offer?

  • Ongoing contract.
  • Competitive salary.
  • A schedule that allows you to have free time during the week (from 9:00 to 17:30 from Mondays to Thursdays, from 8:00 to 15:00 on Fridays and continuous shifts in July and August.)
  • A pleasant environment in a beautiful office downtown Madrid.
  • Ability to work remotely once a week.
  • Freedom to configure your work environment (both hardware and software).
  • Health insurance.
  • Coffee maker..

Are you interested?

If you are, send an email to [email protected] including the following (if applicable):

  • We'd love to see your portfolio if you have one.
  • A GitHub, Bitbucket or any similar page account where we can check some of your sample coding.
  • A link to your blog, writings or talks.
  • Links to your side or personal projects.
  • A link to a LinkedIn, Twitter or any other social media account you want to share with us (your Miniplay profile will be the very best.)
